Antisemitism/Title VI

Antisemitism and Title VI

“Antisemitism” means a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of antisemitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities. Antisemitism may be expressed in speech; writing; visual forms; and actions, and employs sinister stereotypes and negative character traits.

Antisemitism is prohibited in the educational programs and activites of Western Yell County School District and is handled with a “zero tolerance” attitude and policy.

Complaints of discrimination or harassment based on antisemitism may be filed with our Title VI Coordinator, Taunya Parsons, at parsonst@wycschools.com

In addition to filing of a complaint under this policy, complaints of discrimination or harassment based on antisemitism may be submitted to the Title VI Coordinator at the Arkansas Department of Education by contacting ADE.EquityAssistance@ade.arkansas.gov. More information about Title VI can be located at https://dese.ade.arkansas.gov/Offices/legal/compliance-assistance-center/title-vi
