Dear WYCSD Parents,

Western Yell County School District needs your help! At the beginning of the school year, we sent home Free/Reduced Meal Applications. These applications not only allow us to provide your child with FREE meals, they also provide much needed funding from the Federal Government.

WYC is a small district with BIG goals! We can utilize federal funding to provide a variety of educational opportunities, such as adding course offerings, & hiring additional staff for our students so we can keep our class sizes as small as possible.

Please take time to complete an application; even if you think you don’t qualify. The 2023-24 school year is our “base year” for our “Provision II status,” which allows us to serve FREE meals to ALL students. For this reason, it’s imperative we accurately report our data to ensure we can continue to serve all students with free meals.

Applications are completely confidential! All Faculty & staff are bound by confidentiality laws, preventing them from speaking about your info. Additionally, if you send your application in a sealed, clearly labeled envelope, or turn them in to the office, only one person in the District will ever see your information.

The application process is very easy, even though it must be completed in hard-copy format. You may find & print an application from our District website under the “cafeteria” tab at wycschools.com; you can request forms to be sent home with your child by calling your child’s school; or you may pick up a hard copy at any District Office - Elem, HS, or Admin.

Again, this extremely important paperwork is a win/win for all involved. Thank you for your help with allowing us to provide your child with FREE meals, as well as helping to provide them with the best educational experience.
